Why do I get Security Alerts - You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure?
Some users may experience a "Security Alert" dialog box when logging in or accessing the “My Account” option. This alert message states "Security Alert - You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure." or “You are about to leave a secure Internet connection.”
These security boxes are normal for Internet Explorer users changing between secure and non-secure pages. Please note that secure in this instance means that the information sent from your computer is encrypted. Secure pages are used for logging in, updating your personal details and making credit card purchases. When performing searches, viewing information pages or detailed records you are not sending any confidential information from your computer so there is no need for that information to be encrypted.
At no point is there any risk of your personal information being available to anyone outside of the IFHF administration staff. Note that the IFHF staff never have access to your credit card details.
You can turn off this alert dialog box by either clicking on the box “In the future, do not show this warning’ or, in your Internet Explorer options as follows:
Select Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. The check-box "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode" should not be checked. Deselect this item and save your changes if you no longer wish to see this security alert dialog box.
